i know you don't understand it
the way I think is so sublime
but what goes on inside my head
is much more than a crime
in an exercise of excrable taste 
i go from something special to the commonplace
but i know that you would
wish the best for me
 
just smile to say you're happy
and i will go away
you'll find me there at the top of the stairs
every other thursday
every other thusday
 
i know you don't understand it

but with all you've done and all i've seen
i know i haven't got it wrong
you can cry if you want i understand your reasons

had to come sometime
