Sad World

saturday I'm off the leash again
I'll see my special friend
if she will have me in

and all I know
I wish she'd go
just walk away
make it easy for me
disillusionment with the heaven sent
this gifted girl is not for my world

welcome to my heart

we'll catch a movie tonight
and walk the long way home
I'll think in silence as I hear my footsteps echo
and I'll watch the cats play
then I'll lay by the fire
and I'll wrestle with my conscience
the gentle sounds she makes
will help me make the same mistake
all over again...

as I think it through
I'm doomed if I do
and damned if I don't
there's a sound I make
as if my heart would break
I wonder what she thinks
am I making a mistake?
