Don't Go Out
she lives down my street
and the air gets a shimmer in the heat that surrounds her
as she walks by
while i watch from my window
see the footpath cracking in the afterglow
and the flowers die
she's got a problem,
she burns me up, burns me up
she's got a problem,
life gets hot when you burn so bright
don't go out
she lives in a house
where the windows reflect her and the curtains protect her
from watching eyes
and when she sleeps
all the children run into the street to play
and when she wakes they hide
she's got a problem,
she burns me up, burns me up
she's got a problem,
life gets hot when you burn so bright
don’t go out
and would you look at me,
what do you know, what do you know?
i can't see her at all
she lives down my street
and the air gets a shimmer in the heat that surrounds her
as she walks by
while i watch from my window
see the footpath cracking in the afterglow
and the flowers die
she's got a problem,
she burns me up, burns me up
she's got a problem,
life gets hot when you burn so bright, don’t go out
