Lyrics

The Hallelujah Mine

The songs on H.Mine are about life - losing and finding self and others, growing as a person and working out what really matters. Which all sounds wonderfully deep, and as such is probably misleading. In some ways it's the nicest bunch of songs we've ever put together, and certainly some of the most positive. Check the lyrics for 29200, for instance. Sheesh!

Red Roses For Me (compilation - Red Roses For Me)

Steve Genge appeared out of the mists of history, now living in another country, and requested a track for a bit of a RR4Me retrospective. Well, in retrospect I have no idea whether he wanted something old or something new. We gave him this, and it's a track that I have a soft spot for. I'm glad it's out there somewhere.

Airpop Terminal 2 (compilation - Apricot Records)

The Apricot fellows asked nicely once again, and we sent them something... odd. I can't explain it. Anyway, they were ever so polite in asking if they could have something else, and we quickly came up with these. It sounds like it, but they're good ideas. I suspect there'll be a re-recording of these songs at some stage, so we can hold our heads up in public. I must say however that the compilation was a beautiful piece of work - Apricot excelled here. The packaging, the sounds, all brilliant.

Katydid

There was really no central theme to this album as it was just a collection of songs that I already had, but if you had to come up with a theme from the lyrics then the album is about cars and girls and ill-fortunes with both. Which, come to think of it, pretty much describes my life in the years preceding the release of the album. But not, it should be said, thereafter.

Airpop (compilation - Apricot Records)

A trio of nice Deutsche lads, the Apricot boys asked for some twee, please. I'm unsure as to whether I delivered on their request, but it was a good album.

Melbourne Holiday (compilation - Clover Records)

Bart from Library Records asked if I had anything around 2 minutes long for this compilation... and as it happened, I did.

Red Roses For Me #6

There was no theme to this collection of songs either; they were just the best quality recordings I had at the time (1992).
